Birmingham Sports and Recreation

Birmingham Sports and RecreationWhile Birmingham has no major professional sports franchises, that doesn't mean that there aren't any true sports fans here. And even though there were serious attempts to have a pro football team represent the city, every one of those endeavors met with unqualified failure. Still, that defeat hasn't dampened the competitive spirit and pursuit of recreational fun that many people in the area still enjoy. Among other amenities, Birmingham features expansive parks, recreation trails, fishing spots and kid-friendly amusement parks. These activities not only provide lots of fun for all participants, it creates a healthy focus on the benefits of exercising, the value of healthy competition, and the sheer fun of enjoying some great sports and recreational activities.
